The CATS Air Treatment System has been
designed such that
it can be placed in a horizontal or
vertical manner, which ever is
more convenient to your particular
application. The unit should
be placed so that the exhaust fan
provides unimpeded air flow
into the room or airspace being treated.
Place the CATS Unit on
a high shelf, on top of a cabinet, or
other elevated location may
also serve to enhance its operation.
Periodically, you may
wish to move the CATS Air Treatment
System
into various rooms to assure that all
areas receive the beneficial
effects of CX-1000.

The key to the CATS Air Treatment System
is the CX-1000 cartridge
that contains a proprietary citrus-based
formulation which is volatilized
and dispersed into the air. Since the
material in the cartridge is depleted
with time, it is necessary to
periodically replace it for maximum
effectiveness. The useful life of the
cartridge will vary, depending on
the environment in which it is used. If
it is used in a relatively small,
closed space with normal temperature and
humidity, it will last longer
than if it is used in a more open space
with lower humidity or higher
temperatures. As a rule of thumb, the
cartridge should last approximately
30 days under optimum conditions;
however, you are the best indicator.
When you notice a reduction in the
beneficial effects of the system, that is
probably the best time to replace the
cartridge.
To Install A New Cartridge
1. Be sure that the CATS Unit is OFF and
unplugged.
2. Remove intake grill (a coin or key
works well).
3. Remove the new CX-1000 cartridge from
its protective wrapper and
insert it into the cartridge
cavity.
4. Install the Electrostatic Pre-filter
in front of the CX-1000 cartridge.
5. Replace the intake grill.
6. Plug the power cord into a grounded
120V AC/60Hz wall outlet.
7. Turn on the power switch. Your CATS
Unit should now be operating,
as evidenced by exhaust fan
operation and the illuminated on/off
switch.
Replace the Cartridge
To replace the CX-1000 cartridge, follow
the above procedure, making
absolutely certain that the CATS unit is
OFF and unplugged. In addition,
if the Electrostatic pre-filter shows any
accumulation of dust or dirt, rinse
it under running water and be sure that
it is completely dry before reinstalling
it.
