Lower extremety injuries (overuse
injuries) can be the result of direct
injury to a muscle or tendon, or as the
result of indirect injury from
compensation for a lack of motion or
flexibility in other anatomical
structures, joints, muscles or tendons. The use of the FootFlex P.S.D.
can help to prevent and rehabilitate
injuries by establishing and maintaining
proper flexibility in the calf muscle
complex. The calf muscle complex consists
of the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles,
which combine to form the Achilles
tendon. This muscle-tendon complex is the
strongest of the lower leg and lack of
flexibility in this region can result in
calf muscle strains, Achilles tendonitis,
plantar fasciitis, shin pain, and other
lower extremity overuse injuries.

| Experts
agree that conservative treatment of
common lower leg and foot injuries are
successful in 70 to 90 percent of all
cases. Heading the list of conservative
methods is proper stretching. The FootFlex P.S.D. allows for a
controlled stretch of the calf muscle
complex with the foot held in its correct
biomechanical position. The classic wall
stretch is often performed incorrectly
resulting in an inadequate stretch of the
calf muscle. Other types of stretching
devices allow for an uncontrolled stretch
that could result in injury.
The FootFlex P.S.D.,
with its patented adjustable toe plate,
allows for a Safe,
Simple, and Effective
stretch while minimizing the risk of
injury.
