FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

West Chester, PA (July 23, 1999) -- QVC, the world's leading electronic retailer, will present the nationally televised debut of the FootFlex P.S.D. (Performance Stretching Device) on August 24, 1999 (9:00 am EST). Hosted by Perry Julien, D.P.M. of the Atlanta Foot and Ankle Center, the FootFlex P.S.D. will make it's debut on QVC's "Let's Get Healthy" segment. "We feel this special presentation by QVC will best represent the FootFlex P.S.D. as an effective, yet conservative tool in combating lower leg ailments and injuries, as well as providing a means by which one can establish and maintain proper flexibility in the lower leg", said William Taylor, Vice-President and COO of SelfSource, Inc. The 10 minute segment will feature noted podiatric expert, Dr. Perry Julien, who will be available on air to answer questions regarding the FootFlex P.S.D. and lower leg inflexibility.

The FootFlex P.S.D. is a lower leg stretching device designed to place the foot in a slightly supinated position, thus utilizing the "windlass mechanism" (the biomechanically correct function of the plantar fascia to depress the metatarsal heads and elevate and stabilize the longitudinal arch of the foot during normal gait). The patented adjustable toe plate of the FootFlex P.S.D. dorsiflexes the hallux, which places the plantar fascia under tension, thus elevating the arch of the foot into a more supinated position. By stretching with the foot in its proper biomechanical alignment allows for a more effective stretch of the gastrosoleal complex, and at the same time also is gradually stretching the plantar fascia. The FootFlex P.S.D. effectively stretches both the triceps surae and the plantar fascia at the same time. Other types of stretching devices on the market today allow for an uncontrolled stretch that could result in injury. The FootFlex P.S.D. offers a controlled stretch, which does not use gravity or body weight to achieve the stretch, and is not limited to shoe size.
